Uncovering secrets across Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom often leads players into unexpected subterranean adventures. One of the most intriguing side quests in the game is A Call From The Depths, which challenges players to locate missing eyes and restore a giant statue hidden far below the surface. Completing this unique quest grants valuable upgrades and unlocks permanent benefits for Link's journey.

Starting the Quest and Unlocking the Gate

To initiate this questline, head to the base of the Great Plateau south of Hyrule Field. You will discover a cave entrance plugged by cracked rocks near the water's edge. Destroying these boulders drains the trapped lake water and reveals a small stone statue speaking with a mysterious voice.

After interacting with this initial figure, travel to the Temple of Time Ruins atop the Great Plateau. Speak to the large Goddess Statue inside the temple to officially trigger the quest objectives. The statue will mark four distinct chasms across the plateau that hold its missing eyes.

Finding the Four Statue Eyes on the Surface

Each eye is situated near one of the four main chasms on the Great Plateau. At the North Chasm, use Ultrahand to lift the eye out of a small pool of water. At the East Chasm, smash through a wall of loose rocks to uncover the hidden eye.

For the South Chasm, lift a large stone near the chasm edge to reveal the missing piece. Finally, visit the West Chasm where the last eye is encased in a block of ice that must be melted with fire. Once you find each eye, toss it directly into the chasm pit before diving down after it.

Transporting Eyes to the Bargainer Statue

Descending into the Depths requires moving each eye toward the Great Abandoned Central Mine located directly below the Temple of Time Ruins. Various construction materials and Zonai devices are stationed near each drop point to assist you. You can assemble wheeled vehicles, minecarts, or winged gliders to transport the heavy eyes through the dark terrain.

Bring each piece to the massive Bargainer Statue resting in the lower levels of the central mine. Using Ultrahand, slot each eye into one of the four empty sockets on the statue's face. Delivering all four eyes fully awakens the ancient structure.

Quest Rewards and Statue Benefits

Restoring the Bargainer Statue triggers a choice between two valuable permanent rewards. Players can choose to receive either a free Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel without spending any Lights of Blessing. This makes the quest exceptionally useful for expanding Link's core attributes early in the game.

Additionally, completing this objective activates the Great Abandoned Central Mine's Bargainer Statue as a permanent vendor. Players can return to this location to exchange collected Poes for rare armor pieces and crafting resources.
